I have been writing poetry for 20 years and it has helped me to get thru many bad times in my life. I don't belong to a poetry club, but I have entered contests and had poems published. I am going back to college, online, to try to get a B/A in English because I want to give some creedence to my writings. Currently I am trying to write a book about my deceased daughter and her 18+ years on kidney dialysis

I do not know what I need as far a classes....
You sound as if you have done your research.

I am going to submit 2 or 3 to the Sacramento Poetry Club...
They publish a book each year and put around 50 poems in it.
I have no idea what to expect...
I welcome feedback and any advice!

when lines run thru your mind, write them down right away, because sometimes, if they slip away, you can't recover them. Also try to let your heart, your mind and your hand form a connection, and remember, writers block happens. I have read some of the writings you have posted and you are very talented.

I would be very interested in connecting with both of you.  I'm a former English Professor (now taking time off to be a stay-at-home mother). My work has appeared in many literary magazines.  I've taught poetry classes, and I've also participated in various poetry reading groups.

I'm also interested in the healing aspects of writing poetry.  Have you read Poetic Medicine by John Fox?  It's a very good book on that subject.

I would be interested in what kind of poetry you like to read?  Who are your favorite poets?  Please PM me if you would like to visit . . .

    OK...I feel great,
just limited use of my silly arm.
    I brought in an apprentice,
who will take care of you,
    for the furlough price...
    for now..
    Very nice girl,
    and I need the help.
    Call me anytime!

    I am feeling wonderful,
just like I have only one arm.
    Getting better every day!
    God blesses!

This is so exciting. I am an old woman, who visits her daughter and family 3x a week, but have not much else going on. I would love for someone to read some of the things I have written, as most of it, like all writings, come from the heart and soul. I would love to meet both of you ladies, but I have no vehicle so it would have to be near to where I live, on Emerald park Drive.

The Comfort Zone is in the grey low profile medical Bldg.
It shares the driveway with the two story Medical Bldg...
I look forward to getting together,
how is next week looking for you?

It is a very nice place to sit and talk,
one of the qualities that makes it so special!

My daughter is off track right for the next two weeks, so I will need to see if I can find a sitter.  After November 1st, I will be free most mornings.

    Also, I may be able to provide a ride . . .
